February 1, 2010 - Written by Deborah White
We received these videos from our friend in California who helped supply medical and food supplies for Haiti. There was a team of doctors and nurses who also went with them and were able to get to Grace Village in Carrefour where the girls’ home and the church is located.
The compound is full of families who have lost their homes. There are 15,000 to 20,000 people staying in the compound. There is little food, but they feel safe there.
YESTERDAY, MONDAY FEBRUARY 1, THE MARINES PROVIDED FOOD FOR THE PEOPLE IN GRACE VILLAGE! We praise God for their help as the need was great!
You will see on these videos a medical clinic that has been set up inside the church. You will also see Michael Jeune, Bishop Joel and Doris’ son speaking to an interviewer about the problems there. You will see him with Jesumine, a girl from the orphanage. (She is one of the girls we are trying to get out of Haiti.)
Michael made a statement at the end of the video about the dangers arising in the country concerning human trafficking. The children are being sold into slave labor, sex slavery as well as sold to people in other countries for “adoptions”. The most alarming news you will hear is that cannibalism has begun.
At this time, there is nothing more we can do here at Word of Life. We received all supplies that we can hold in our facilities. We ask that you all agree in prayer with us that these children be protected while in Haiti and that they are allowed to come out of Haiti to the U.S. for safety.
Several churches that we are associated within Haiti, yesterday started three days of fasting and prayer for a solution to this catastrophic mess. We would like to enter into this fast with them today and tomorrow.
